Synopsis: The short film hitchhiker (Anhalter) by Daniel Höpfner tapped the full potential of puppet animation. Materiality is elaborated precisely to describe the topography of a location. The materiality however is not limited to the remains of the hitchhiker station, but also concerns the protagonist. Character and objects are treated equally in order to inweave the personal and the collective story.
